Monitoring and Evaluating Impact

MONITORING & EVALUATING IMPACT

  • What is happening as a result of our improvement actions?
  • What evidence do we have?
  • Which of our learners are/are not benefiting?
  • How do we know?
  • Is this good enough?
  • Do we need to adjust what we are doing? What are we learning?
  • Can we use this learning in other areas?

  • Student engagement / agency has increased
  • Learning conversations are taking place - there are more discussions based around actual learning that is taking place
  • Students are dealing with challenges more effectively - aware that they may need to spend some time in the ‘learning pit’ prior to mastering new skills / learning new concepts
  • Evidence is largely based on everyday observations
  • Powerful learner survey will be completed again in T3/4 to assess students progress and attitude towards their learning
  • Clarity: Students are working more independently and can articulate more confidently about what they are learning and why
  • Students attitudes and willingness to learn Te Reo and other aspects of tikanga has improved (click here to see students role playing in Te Reo)
